Opening New Doors
On December 9, 2009, Family HealthCare Center was awarded a $6,666,583 Facility Investment Program grant through the federal Health Resources and Services Administration*. This grant opens doors for an exciting new future for FHC!
We plan to renovate the former Pence Automobile Company, 301 NP Avenue, and consolidate most of our services to that location in 2011. The $11.5 million investment will improve patient access, increase efficiency, and contribute to the revitalization of downtown Fargo.

| We are currently in the design phase of our relocation project. Sketches and plans are being put together for the interior space, with input from FHC’s staff and providers. We expect to begin the bidding process for the construction phase this summer. |
The new site will nearly double Family HealthCare Center’s space and triple the number of medical examination rooms. Plans call for new education and wellness areas, giving our patients more tools for managing their health and reducing costs.
Family HealthCare Center has chosen architects for the project: Michael J. Burns Architects, Ltd (Moorhead) and Oliver Architects (St. Paul). With extensive combined experience in historic preservation and health care center projects, their aim is to create a safe, accessible, and pleasant atmosphere for our patients. Keep checking back for more project updates!
* Total allowable costs (under the federal grant program) for the project: $10,184,866. The FIP grant accounts for 65.46% of those costs. Non-governmental sources will provide $3,268,283 in funding, or 32% of the costs.
