Family HealthCare Center is a private, 501(c)(3) non-profit community health center providing medical, dental, pharmacy, and lab services to the Fargo-Moorhead area. We served just over 13,000 individual patients in 2009.
Our main clinic is located at 306 4th St. N., in Fargo. We also have a dental clinic at 715 11th St. N. in Moorhead and our Homeless Health Services clinic in the basement of St. Mark’s Lutheran Church, 670 4th Ave. N. in Fargo. We provide education services to help patients manage conditions such as diabetes and hypertension. We also provide referrals to mental health services in the community. As a community health center, Family HealthCare Center provides services to patients regardless of ability to pay. Fees are adjusted based on the patient’s income and family size. At least 51% of our governing board members are patients representing the population we serve.
Family HealthCare Center’s primary goal is ensuring access to quality health care, but we uphold many values which complement that goal. Our staff, services and facilities reflect a deep appreciation for diversity and cultural competency. We believe in treating people with dignity and respect. We know that informed patients who are involved in their own care have the best health outcomes. We understand the importance of listening.
Access to our patients is considerably more difficult, due to privacy concerns and federal HIPAA policies. Please be aware that any video or photos acquired inside our facilities cannot contain the names or visual images of patients without written consent. We promise our patients the right to privacy and will never pressure them into signing such a written consent.
We understand that our story is easier for you to tell when you have access
to our staff and providers. We do have a lean staff with very busy
schedules, but we also realize that it is important to be as accessible as
possible to reporters and hosts. To request an interview, visit or clinic
tour contact Denise Peterson at (701) 271-6385 or
