Who will benefit from this individualized service: Children and adults diagnosed with Asthma, a chronic inflammatory disease of the lungs.
Service goals: Educate and assist patients to: 1) Recognize what happens during an asthma episode; 2) Identify, control, and eliminate asthma triggers; 3) Understand how medications help to control asthma symptoms; 4) Perform proper inhaler and peak flow techniques 5) Monitor peak flow values; and 6) Implement an asthma action plan.
